Mark Steel was founded in 1979. Mark started the business by making bracelets and finger rings. He showed his work at the Park City Arts festival that same year. From there, Mark sold his unique jewelry at a small store in a local mall. Mark began by working in his garage. Even when Matt joined Mark in 1986, he was still working and selling jewelry from the single car garage next to his home. Over the years, the business has evolved into a profitable company with several employees. Our shop is located in the Kamas Valley, the gateway to the Uinta Mountains. All of our employees live in the local community. Mark Steel is located only 10 miles east of Park City, where Mark initially started selling jewelry.

Even though the business is substantially larger, Mark remains the artist, designing and creating fascinating jewelry designs. He still spends time each day in production at the bench. Matt handles the day to day business operation, oversees the production, and works with the sales reps.
